first swimsuit

This is my first swimsuit that I designed. I was excited that it turned out! My good old zig-zag stitch on my Elna did the trick. The material is from JOANNS. Yep, JOANNS.

 I designed this dress awhile back but showed pictures of it in poor lighting. For awhile I didn't like the way it turned out, but it grew on me. I will probably do another with different fabric/colors/slightly different design.

fading summer

I made this dress out of vintage fabric and recycled leather from a vintage skirt. Its the perfect flowy dress for a humid and hot day like today was. After these photos (and after the sun went down), my boyfriend and I drove a little farther down a dirt road and found thee best surprise ever. It was so random and so wonderful...two dinosaurs. I will be going back soon in the daylight to get some photos to show you guys the t-rex and longneck.

Electrical Banana

I wore this dress that I designed to a wedding yesterday. I found this fabric for 25 cents at a thrift store. The leather slices on the shoulder (front and back) are from a vintage leather skirt. The hemline is what I would call a dolphin hemline because it goes up on the sides. The back is slightly razored with a black metal zipper. I am wearing vintage jewelry plus the DIY bracelets. My nails are painted with L'Oreal's nail polish named: Cockatoo's Mystery.

Dream day

 This post is a little out of the ordinary but I wanted to share this princess dress that I designed/made for my niece. My family surprised her for her birthday by going to Disneyland! Her dreams basically came true. Her and Rapunzel are now best friends.

 My easter colored dress. I designed this number a couple of months ago. The shoes are Kimchi Blue. Thrifted and vintage jewelry.

Finished!

Finally had time to finish the dress I designed. Inspiration board for this dress is a couple posts down. I ended up using a peach colored silky cotton that I got at a thrift store with a hint of a metallic grey linen.

In progress

This is some inspiration to a drape I just finished. I am thinking about using the purple and orange color combination for the dress. I am sewing it in muslin tomorrow and I will be showing the finished project in a few days. The Abbey photo is a little random (you might think) but this photo is from an editorial in March of 2010 for Vogue Australia. It was related to surfing... Yes I think she is amazing.
