they don't want none of them long hairs hanging around

This outfit is mostly thrifted. Shoes Jeffrey Campbell. Tights from drugstore. Shirt from Forever 21.

This is my all time favorite sweater from the 1950s. The whole thing is made so beautifully, I can never get over it. It is lined with lace, has a removable fur collar, and much of the sweater was sewn by hand. Vintage clothing, my friends, is the way to go. (I can go on, and on...) I shortened this suede skirt to make the front a little shorter than the back and I love it. The vest layered over the sweater is a Calvin Klein number I found digging around at a thrift store.

OH! I tried making a version of honestlywtf.com's hex nux bracelet. I used shoelace and hex nuts. This bracelet has rarely left my wrist since I made it.

In progress

This is some inspiration to a drape I just finished. I am thinking about using the purple and orange color combination for the dress. I am sewing it in muslin tomorrow and I will be showing the finished project in a few days. The Abbey photo is a little random (you might think) but this photo is from an editorial in March of 2010 for Vogue Australia. It was related to surfing... Yes I think she is amazing.

Jason Wu F/W 2012

I got my dose of Jason Wu for Target a couple of weeks ago. Showing up ten minutes after the store opened sounded like enough time for me to snag a couple of pieces. Oh how I was wrong. Between three ladies, the racks were close to empty, and the ladies' carts were full. I was lucky to get two shirts in my size after someone put them back.

Anyways, I love every detail of the first photo. I am a sucker for fur and slicked back hair. The military inspired jacket with fur sleeves in the second photo is making me want to cut the sleeves off of one of my vintage fur coats and sew them unto my vintage Liz Claiborne military style jacket. Just saying. I sense some serious DIY.

what happens in...

I went to Vegas for less than 24 hours on Thursday, which is almost the perfect dose of Sin City. Any longer, and that place will burn you up. Anyways, I did a little shopping and discovered that Topshop is opening in spring at Fashion Show. Woo! I am very happy there will be a Topshop in reach. Well, 4.5 hours away...

Hat, brixton. Jacket and Jewelry, vintage. Long sleeve shirt, Forever 21. Thrifted/DIY, shorts. Shoes, Urban Outfitters.

Oh, Abbey

And my wish list grows. The top and shorts by Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga in this first photo are amazing. Of course, Abbey Lee Kershaw rocking this outfit (and the entire editorial) makes the top/shorts combination that much better.
